Today we went to the fire station on a preschool field trip (Thanks to Shanna for setting it up). It was a little in depth for their age group, but it was lots of fun to get a tour of the police/fire station, since in Woodway they are a public safety unit and they are both policeman and firemen. They gave us a tour and let the kids see the trucks and climb up in them and see the fire hose and the officer got up in all his gear and talked to the kids about not being scared of the firemen when they come to help even though they are all dressed up because underneath they are still the officer. I think it was good, I just think Cami was a little young to get most of it :) At the end they all got little fireman hats!

Posing with their sweet hats and Officer Dudley! I had to explain to Cami that not all fire trucks are red since she kept saying red fire truck on the way over and these fire trucks are yellow... not sure why maybe because it is a public safety department as opposed to just a fire department?
